Hello, I'm Maria Martinez, a BACP licensed psychotherapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges.

Originally from Mexico, I have called the United Kingdom my home for nearly two decades. My academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of Edinburgh. Seeking to deepen my understanding of social cognition, I pursued an MSc in Social Cognition at University College London (UCL). Currently, I'm in the final stages of completing a doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Regent's University London, where I've honed my skills and expertise in providing compassionate and effective therapy.

My clinical experience spans various settings, including the NHS, leading mental health charities, and private practice. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of mental health and the nuances of therapeutic intervention. In addition to my private practice, I serve as a High Intensity Therapist at the NHS South London and Maudsley Trust.

I am deeply committed to ongoing professional development, staying abreast of the latest research and therapeutic modalities to ensure the highest standard of care for my clients. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with.

I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings and gain insight into themselves and their situations. I use an integrative approach to help clients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life, drawing on a range of modalities, such as Person Centred, Humanistic Approaches; Psychodynamic Theories; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); and Existential Therapy.

Whether you're facing personal struggles, seeking support for mental health challenges, or simply navigating life's transitions, I am here to provide a safe and supportive space for healing and growth.
